С незапамятных времен сказки были поучительными историями, состоящими из страшных запретов, да мудрых советов. Но спустя много времени они начали превращаться в милые байки с пушистыми зверушками и счастливыми окончаниями, теряя свой первоначальный смысл и предназначение. Пора положить этому конец! "Жили они долго и счастливо" больше не пройдёт! В этом эпизоде Дьявол обманывает глупого мельника, дочь в обмен на богатство и достаток. И вот, каждый раз, когда Дьявол приезжает за законной добычей, девушка так уж плачет и так уж рыдает, что смотреть страшно, не то что забирать с собой. Так что каждый раз Дьявол оставляет это безнадёжное дело, надеясь что когда он придёт в следующий раз мордашка дочурки будет не такая распухшая от слёз и приобретение можно будет хотя бы рассмотреть. Ну мельник, добропорядочный надо заметить гражданин, не будь дурак, отрубает доченьке ручки, чтобы она постоянно топилась в слезах, повод для огорчения создал, так сказать. Потом король умудряется на ней жениться, и происходит ещё много чего такого, о чём можно узнать если сыграть в игру.

Once upon a time, fairy tales were valuable cautionary yarns filled with dire warnings and sage advice. However, over time, the stories have become so watered down with cute woodland creatures and happy endings that they have lost their true meaning and purpose. No more! Happily Ever After ends now! In this episode, the devil tricks a lowly miller into trading his daughter for the gift of wealth. Each time the devil comes to collect, the girl is so soaked with tears of sadness that the devil decides to come back another time. Accordingly, the miller cuts off the girl's hands so that she's constantly crying and therefore unwanted by the devil. The girl ultimately ends up marrying a king, but when he goes off to war, the devil returns and tricks the girl into thinking that the king has ordered her execution, driving her out of the castle and back to her father. She's, of course, grateful to return to a place of safety until Grimm reminds her of the soon-to-be-famous phrase “an arm for an arm.”
